What does it cost?
The answer is that we have not figured that out yet, and it will depend on what sort of activities the members (you) decide on during the upcoming meetings. A rough guess is between $35 and $50 per year.
What does membership include?
- Voting rights in club elections.
- Mentoring and Free short classes every month. If you are a radio expert already, then this means that you have a chance to build the next generation of radio operators by sharing your knowledge and experience.
- Free or very discounted Amateur Radio Licensing Classes.
- Full access to all club field activities and gatherings.
- A chance to win door prizes at some of our meetings.
- Our undying gratitude for supporting this effort.
Is this an ARRL affiliated club?
We will be an Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) club very soon.
Do I need to be an ARRL member?
It will benefit the club significantly if you are. We won't make you join, but if you are, thank you very much!
Do I need a Radio License?
No. You only need to be interested in radio communications in any form. We ask only for your curiosity.
Will you help me get a license?
Absolutely. We are an educational club, and will be holding regular classes and tests for amateur radio licenses of all levels. We can also help you figure out how to get your GMRS license if you are having trouble.
Do you accept donations?
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Donations of any amount will be gratefully accepted, and are tax deductible. We would also be grateful for donated equipment so we can loan it out or give it to beginning radio operators or auction it as a fund raiser. If it is not too bold for us to ask, please consider passing some of your equipment on to us in your will so your shack will live on.
