This is the official unofficial CWARC newsletter for April.
The funding has arrived! The LOR foundation grant is now in the bank, and equipment is being purchased! So far, we have ordered a Laptop, projector, antenna analyser, misc tools and connectors, and some cool door prizes for meetings. I'll bring it all to the next meeting for all to see. Show up in person for a chance to win a door prize!

Repeater Update:
Our efforts to specify and purchase repeater equipment are hitting some obstacles, so If you are experienced with repeater equipment and configuration, your help is very needed. Please contact me at info@cwarc.club

Social Media:
You can access CWARC through the following Social Media services. For now, I am posting updates there as time allows. We have a volunteer who will be keeping those sites updated (Thanks Marissa!) in the future, and adding other media platforms:
- X.com: @CWARC307
- Discord.com: https://discord.gg/F6BE5y4w
- Facebook.com: https://www.facebook.com/profile

Field Activity Opportunities:
If you want to do some fun field work, there are several events in the works.
- The Bighorn 100 Trail Race needs volunteers at race waypoints. Some of which need to be hiked into. If you have a portable 70cm ham radio and a desire to do some backpacking and camping this could be a fun overnighter. Contact John Cranmer at wy7vaf@gmail.com to volunteer.
- Closer to home, we are making plans with Lander Cycling Club to assist with the Jurassic Classic and Wyo131 bike race. It is still in the early stages of planning, but it looks like they will need several operators at vehicle accessible waypoints. I will have the coordinates soon, and I think we should plan an activity to scout the locations for signal checks, and we will want a photographer to get pictures of our efforts for the web page. Contact info@cwarc.club to volunteer, or volunteer at a meeting.

Meeting:
- The next meeting will be Saturday, May 17th. 10am in Riverton. The exact location to be announced once it is confirmed.
- There won't be any snacks provided, but We will give away a set of walkie talkies (FRS) as a door prize.
- We will conduct club business and plan Field Day in June.
- The Mini Class is on effective communication and procedures. We will discuss how we can keep the airwaves lively, civil and useful. It is an intro for beginners and a refresher for the old-timers. (You need a refresher. Trust me. Everybody gets sloppy.)
---
Education:
- I am working on a presentation to present our club to the Lander Cycling Club. I think that this will grow into a "Why Radio?" presentation to show the general public how radio skill can be a valuable skill.
- Plans are being made to offer a "radio essentials" class to introduce the beginner to the essential principles of radio operation.
- Several formats for Amateur licensing classes are being considered.
- If you are comfortable with teaching and public speaking, please volunteer for the Education committee.
---
Misc.
- We are working on ARRL Membership. The paperwork is pretty much done, and we are waiting to hear from them.
- If you are a Volunteer Examiner (VE) and would like to help with test sessions, please contact info@cwarc.club so we can schedule a test session later this summer.
- Volunteers are needed! I realize that this is a big ask, but it doesn't need to be. Many hands make light work. If you can, please step up to the line and help me build a club that we can all be proud of.
