Operate communication stations for First Aid Stations
he WYO 131 Bike Race needs communications at their aid stations along the course of the race to assist in the event of a medical emergency. Right now, we have only have three volunteers, which won't man the stations sufficiently. We need your help in the field. We probably will also need drivers and assistants for some stations. If you have a vehicle suitable for dirt roads, or young legs to help explore good communications locations on site.
Ham operators with a mobile cross-band repeater will be particularly appreciated.
You are needed on September 13 at one of the following locations:
- Atlantic City Grubsteak
- Race Headquarters (Lander)
- 9 Mile Reservoir 42.756700 -108.405916
- Hudson-Atlantic City Road 42.576452 -108.263901
- Louis Lake Lodge
Details of the Race route can be found here:
The Lander and 9-mile sites will need to be active first. If you don't have all day, the Lander station could be done in shifts. Obviously, some stations won't need to be active right away, so you will have some recreation time if you show up early at Atlantic or Louis Lake. If we can't all hit the same repeater, one person at a base station in Lander or Riverton will need to relay info between repeaters.
